"The Office" means the office for the time being of the Club.

In Writing" means written or typewritten or printed or partly written or partly typewritten or partly printed.

Words importing the singular number include the plural number and words importing the plural number include the singular, and words importing the masculine gender include the feminine gender.

The Articles of Association and Bye-laws shall together form the Rules of the Club.

2. For the purposes of registration the member- ship of the Club is declared to be unlimited.

3. The Club is established for the purposes expressed in the Memorandum of Association.

4. The income and property of the Club whence- soover derived shall be applied solely towards the promotion of the objects of the Club as set forth in its Memorandum of Association, and no portion thereof shall be paid or transferred directly or indirectly by way of dividend, bonus or otherwise howsoever by way of profit to the persons who at any time are or have been Members of the Club or any of them. Provided that nothing herein contained shall prevent the payment in good faith of remuneration to any officers or servants of the Club or to any Member thereof or any other person in return for services. actually rendered.

5. Every Member of the Club undertakes to contribute to the assets of the Club in the event of the same being wound up while he is a Member or within one year thereafter, for payment of the debts. and liabilities of the Club contracted before the time.

at which he ceases to be a Member, and the costs, charges and expenses of winding up the same, and for the adjustment of the rights of the contributories among themselves such amount as may be required not exceeding $10.

Membership.

6. The Members of the Club shall consist of Flying Members and Subscribing Members.

7. The election to membership of the Club shall be open to all, irrespective of nationality, and shall be by ballot and the election shall be in the hands of the General Committee. Application for admission must be made in writing signed by the candidate and addressed to the Secretary and shall be in such form as the General Committee may prescribe.

8. No Member shall be allowed to fly without the permission of the General Committee first had and obtained. Such permission may be withdrawn at any time.

9. All candidates for admission to the Club as Flying Members shall on making application for such admission sign the following declaration:---

to the best of my belief I shall be resident in the Colony of Hong Kong for three years and I undertake that, in the event of the Governor in Council of the Colony of Hong Kong within three years from the date hereof or at any time during my membership of The Hong Kong Flying Club, whichever period shall be the longer, declaring under the provisions of the Emergency Regulations Ordinance No. 5 of 1922 that a state of emergency exists, I will place my services at the disposal of the Government of Hong Kong for service with aircraft in the
